Basic Needs
Toiletries, Towels and Washcloths We provide showers for the homeless. We try to supply hygiene packs of soap, razors, shaving cream, sanitary and napkins. There is an endless need for replenishment of these supplies. We depend on whatever we can get that the homeless or cashless can use. Meeting basic hygiene needs is a fundamental step towards self-confidence and recovery.
Money, Tickets, Passes for Social & Recreational Activities We try to do at least one weekly activity. We look for free options for theater, music, ice skating, access to parks etc. The more togetherness, structure, and sense of belonging-the less likelihood for relapse or crisis.
Community needs
Passenger Van or Small Bus
We could do so very much more if we had a way to transport members to needed appointments, activities and to pick up donations. We currently have to use private staff vehicles which only carry two or three at a time. We seldom have the luxury of more than two cars, which means that we can only accommodate very small numbers. A passenger van or small bus would give us opportunities to reach out to others through visits to nursing homes, Western State Hospital, and so much more. |

A Center in Need-Who Cares? Many people come to us hungry, homeless, and in need of the basic necessities. We believe that support and recovery also mean helping with the everyday things that most people take for granted. Please show that you care. All contributions are needed and vital to our organization. Your donations are what help make the miracle of recovery possible. |

Funding for Staff Needs
Our staff is paid very little for the services they provide. We are a dedicated crew and no one complains. But, we can not even pay a living wage due to current budget constraints and funding cuts. Most of our staff average $10.00 per hour without benefits—not much for today's standards. Donations for staff funding would allow us to offer increased wages and additional staff coverage. This would allow us to increases our hours of operation. Since we train our members in volunteer mentoring, we try to hire as many of our members as possible. Increases in this area would really impact the bottom line: getting people on their feet , earning there own living and able to sustain their own housing. And that’s our ultimate goal. |

Housing, Housing, Housing
This is our most basic and important need. Without shelter, our members spend their time in survival and not recovery. We need houses. Fixer upper properties or rent-to-own (we would just start with one). We would like to rent or own several houses to provide group living and transitional housing for our members. The house will strictly be for those actively working on their recovery Each house would have a live-in coordinator. Each person living in the house would pay rent and utilities, based on income level. This project is an opportunity to get countless numbers on their feet and firmly on the road to recovery.
